    The first meal of your day should comprise of a glass of warm water and a fruit. Let your empty stomach adjust before you hand it complex or spicy foods to digest. Remember, a fresh start has a lasting effect.

    Mantra # 2

    Remember: 8 glasses of fluids a day

    It is a myth that you must have 8 glasses of water everyday. Yes, your body will appreciate 8 glasses of fluids though. Make sure you include healthy fluids in your diet like juice, soup, milk AND water.

    Bonus: It will restore nutritions to your body that water alone can not.

    Mantra # 3

    Seeds are Powerpacked grab a fistful everyday

    Seeds maybe small but they are full of vitamins, proteins and Omega3. Flax seeds, Sunflower seeds, Pumpkin seeds, Sesame seeds when consumed regularly will help your body get that energy boost.

    Bonus: Great for some oils that vegetarian diets lack.

    Mantra # 4

    Meditate everyday relax your body for 10 minutes

    For everything that your body and mind do through a day, you must give them a break regularly. Take ten minutes off daily - close your eyes, breathe and let your body and mind relax. The energy you feel after this meditation exercise is amazing.

    Bonus: You can do this anywhere - even at your office!

    Mantra # 5:

    Don't skip your lunch. Opt for healthy snacks such as fruits and nuts between meals

    Does it often happen that an important meeting forces you to skip lunch? Or a busy schedule extends the interval between lunch and dinner? Skipping meals can lead to out-of-control hunger, often resulting in over-eating. When we're very hungry, it's also tempting to forget about good nutrition.

    Health tip: Snacking between meals can help curb hunger, but don't eat so much that your snack becomes an entire meal. Fruits and nuts are my preferred snack options.

    Choose the right oil for consumption. Extra virgin oil is healthy option

    Many people ask me if they should avoid oils and fats completely for a healthy diet. I would say it is OK to eat them, as long as you don't overdo, but it is very important to choose the right ones. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a type of unsaturated fat, the kind that prevents cholesterol, high blood pressure and heart disease. Studies show that it can also fight cancer, especially breast cancer.

    Bonus: You can use olive oil for salad dressings and also in cooking.

    Mantra # 7

    Sleep at least 7-8 hours per day to stay fit, healthy and organized.

    Your body undergoes wear-and-tear each day. Though most of us are aware of this fact, many people - especially today's youngsters - still do not give their body the adequate rest that it needs. This mantra is just a reminder to everyone to sleep well so that your body is able to perform the best everyday.

    Bonus: Sufficient sleep reduces levels of stress, and spurs emotional stability.

    Mantra # 8

    Break the rhythm

    One of the reasons why your body slows down on weight loss, despite constant efforts, is the rhythm which it gets used to. What you must do is BREAK this rhythm and SHOCK your body with a high energy work out at regular intervals. So make sure you speed up for a while when you go walking or on the tread mill. Don't forget to slow down before speeding up again.

    Get a hobby

    Break away from daily pressures and indulge in what you like for one hour! Play a musical instrument, maintain a blog, write a journal, pursue photography, paint, swim, dance - do that one thing you love doing every day. This time off will give you a chance to reconnect with who you are and soothe your soul. It will make you a better and a creative person.

    Mantra # 10

    Eat more often

    Break down your three meals into six smaller ones. More and lighter eating helps you:

    Burn more calories at the end of the day
    Eat fewer calories at the end of the day

    This will boost your metabolism and keep you fresh and active through the day. You must make sure you eat healthy and nutritious food items like fruits, grains, vegetables, milk products, nuts etc.
