TIP FOR THE DAY
It’s world cancer day today!
One person dies every minute from cancer. Among the factors contributing to the rise in incidence of cancer is certainly life style, poor dietary habits and not to forget the strong link between the environment and the development of cancer.
Here are some simple tips for reducing cancer risk;
Lower fat intake especially saturated fat
Double your fifer intake
Include foods rich in vitamin A/ beta carotene, vitamin C and E
Opt for vegetarianism. Say NO to animal proteins
Include vegetable juices like beet, carrots, cabbage, bottle gourd
Include cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage cauliflower, turnips
Include anticancer foods like whole grains, nuts, seeds, onions, garlic, fruits, sprouts
Avoid junk foods
Exercise regularly. Include pranayam and yoga.
Keep weight in control.
