I have to admit that by the grace of god I am a good teacher. I don’t claim to be an outstanding exponent of whatever I do. I started my foray into wellness/fitness as a martial arts trainer and as a health club manager at Holiday Inn. This is where I started to teach swimming to the residents and staff in my free time. I think I did a good job because this gave me the idea for ‘Learn swimming in 24 hours’ course which I started at the Sea Princess Hotel, Juhu. I would like to share this with you- an astrologer had once predicted that I will achieve fame and fortune from water! Anyway, this swimming venture took off well and I have experienced metamorphosis from there onwards. I have had tough times in my life. But, I’ve taken them in my stride and I consider those tough days part of my growth.

For me health is more important. I like to train people who have genuine goals with emphasis on well being of the entire body and not fragmented goals like spot reduction etc. Spiritual well being is as important as physical wellness. My goal is to put my students/ clients on the road to a healthier, more spiritually rewarding lifestyle. So instead of promising just weight loss or inch loss I strive to bring them closer to nirvana and eventually get in touch with the ‘divine’.

My mantra, therefore, is ‘health beyond fitness’. Any exercise program which has a mix of yoga, meditation, right breathing techniques and workout works wonders. It’s no more just weight loss, weight gain or toning- all these are merely the result of a healthy lifestyle.
