This is the first book by author Cyrus Moore and it’s taken 7 years for us to finally get our hands on it. Not because it wasn’t good enough, quite the contrary. But publishers were unwilling to invest in a thriller involving the financial world, stating that it simply would not sell.
Well, 7 years down, in the wake of a huge economic crisis, this book could not be better timed. Since most of us around the world hold those in the financial sector responsible for the recession that we’re currently drowning in, it isn’t far-fetched to picture them as the villains in this riveting novel by a former telecom analyst.
The book tackles the issue of morality in a time of crisis: Would you forgo your personal ethics in order to ensure a stable future for yourself? Or would you stick to your guns & fight the system, even with the odds stacked against you a million-to-one, and everything in your life falling to pieces around you? Nic, the central character in the book, faces just such a decision. But will he make the right choice? Or will greed and desperation blind him to all that is ethical, to all those principles he used believe in as a financial journalist?
I’m afraid you’re going to have to find out for yourself. Not because I like giving you a glimpse of that pot of gold & then making it disappear. But because I want you to discover for yourself what a great book this is. Trust me…you’ll thank me later.
