Back pain caused by bending, twisting and stretching is most likely due to pulling a muscle or a slipped disk. It is observed that lifting heavy objects in the wrong way or doing physical exercise vigorously will also bring about the pain. Besides, a fractured rib can also cause pain in this area. Another pain which you might not connect with mid back pain but should not be ignored is a kidney infection; please look out for other signs and symptoms of kidney infection. Also to note is that, mid back pain which increases in intensity after a meal is fairly common and is caused by a stomach ulcer.
- Pain: The pain could be sudden or chronic. Chronic pain is experienced for a very long time (say 5 or 6 months). The pain may be felt constantly or at a regular interval.
