This back pain comes a close second to common colds as the major cause of lost man hours at work-place. This medical condition is either acute or chronic, and may be caused by underlying problems affecting the muscles, spine, nerves and other structure within the part of our body. Signs & Symptoms:
- Muscle spasms
- Muscle cramps
- Muscle stiffness
- Intermittent or continuous pain in the back and buttocks, which is aggravated by movement and relieved by rest
- Sharp & burning pain in the legs which starts from the buttocks and travels down to the leg, ankle and foot
- The pain worsens by sneezing, coughing, and straining to pass stools
- Nerve-related problems, such as tingling, numbness, or weakness in one leg or in the foot, lower leg, or both legs
- Loss of bladder and/or bowel control
- Pain and stiffness those are worse in the back and hip region
- Fever
- Spine sensitive to touch and pressure
- Pain that wakes you up from your sleep
- Depression
- Drug & Alcohol abuse
- Unexplained weight loss
- History of cancer

I have lowback problem-medical term(canal stenosis).I have been practising these few asanas which have proven very benefical for me-Janusirasana,Paschimotanasana,Matsyendreasana,Suptavajrasana,Bhujangasana,Markatasana,Danurasana,Halasana,Sarvangasana and few more hamstring stretches.Folks with same problem can check it out.

i hv pain and stiffness at lower back(lumber).may b i had surgery in 2003(hictotomy).i m 53/f.
i hv started walking and xercise in evening for 15 minutes.some time also feel pain in knee.my wt is 73kgs/ht 5 feet.so should i continue xrcise or not?plz rpl
