INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Independence Day of any country is a moment of pride and glory. On this special occasion, let us pay tributes to the freedom fighters that sacrificed their lives and fought to free their motherland from the clutches of their oppressors.I love the speech that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru made on this memorable occasion:
“Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we will redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance…. We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again.”
People like Gandhiji, Nehruji, and countless many who gave their life and everything dear for the future generations to come, make me immensely proud to be an Indian.
Let this day of celebration, be a reminder to all of us to be thankful for the physical freedom that was achieved by our great leaders as well as the common man; and let this day also be a reminder that we need to keep striving for the mental freedom form the chains of rituals, limiting beliefs and pettiness. Let us resolve, to realize our true potential and to make a difference for our coming generations. Then we would have lived and lived well.
Happy Independence Day! Stay Happy…Stay Healthy.
