The Advantages of a Facial Workout: Facial exercise can make your facial muscles strong, and strong facial muscles make your face toned, smooth and young. Unlike the skeletal muscles of the body, the facial muscles are directly attached to the skin that covers them; they are also attached to other facial muscles and to bone. Due to various reasons when these facial muscles start to lose their tone and elasticity, due to age and gravity, the skin that is attached to them starts to sag. This of course gives the look you don’t want to see reflected back to you in the bathroom mirror.

But these exercises are not for men and women whose idea of self-improvement through improving the face, is to pop a multivitamin pill or to inject Botox into the muscles of the forehead. The facial exercise program that I advocate will require some dedication, some persistence and, I’m almost reluctant to say it, but, would require lots of hard-work. You’ll get results from the program though. You’ll like what you see in the mirror after only few months.  The exercises that I am going to recommend in the coming few days are kind of isometric exercises. These are exercises in which joint angle and the muscle length do not change, but there is strength training.

Exercise for the Day:
Lean your head back a bit, open and close your mouth. You will feel the muscles in your neck flexing.  This exercise is to keep the neck tight.
Twice a day put moisturising lotion on your neck and gently rub the lotion in an upward stroke.  This will also help tighten the neck muscles.
