(Also known as Bharat Chhodo Andolan or the August Movement.)

Mahatma Gandhi was the person responsible for the movement of Indian Independence struggle in the right direction. He was the one who started the three National Movements. Namely The Non Co-Operation Movement, The Civil Disobedience Movement and The Quit India Movement.

The Quit India Movement was a civil disobedience movement in India launched in August 1942, in response to Mahatma Gandhi’s call for the immediate independence of India. Its aim was to bring the British government to the negotiating table through determined, but passive resistance.

To set the nation free of foreign influence and atrocities, Quit India movement was Gandhiji’s final bid to secure India’s independence. My question to you is how often do we resolve to achieve what we want in life with the same passion and determination as that of ‘The Father of Nation?’ How often are we able to stake all that is dear to us for the sake of our ideologies? I personally take this day as a reminder of how I too can achieve my dreams by intentions, girth, and perseverance.

Please join me in prayers for all those who suffered pain and loss in this movement, and all those who rose to the occasion than and ever after.
