Fear generally plays an important part in our lives and almost rules the human society as a whole. Fear comes in many shapes and forms, be it religion, be it superstition, be it social taboos; and we may as well describe it as: an unpleasant feeling of perceived risk or danger, real or imaginary. Mind you; your brain cannot fathom the difference between the real and the imaginary! The mind understands fear; it does not understand the difference between real and imaginary fear. When we watch a horror movie we are well aware that it is make believe but still we are scared! As fear is based on something that we think may happen in the future, it is clearly a mental process which tries to predict the future – in that sense, the reason of fear is a projection of our mind.
