Try to think of something that angered you today or in the last few days. Now look at it with a new perspective; after letting go of the root of anger. Was it really worth getting angry over, wasting your precious emotions over? Probably not! If you were to look at it from a different perspective besides your own you would notice that things are not as bad as they seemed at that moment. (more…)

Why don’t children get angry? There is a specific point in our lives when we get introduced to anger. It might be in the form of a dear one getting angry or the feeling of anger rising up inside the self. Like a grain of dust is needed to create a pearl inside mother-of-pearl; similarly one incident is required to build the anger inside a person! (more…)

When hate arises or love arises, or any mood for or against anyone, do not project it on the person in question. Remember, you are the source of it. All the questions are inside you and so are the answers. (more…)

Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret. ~Ambrose Bierce (more…)

Read this somewhere a few days back:

There was a 76 year old man who had been going to the wall of Berlin to pray for peace; every day for the last 50 years since it was built in 1961. So a lady from a news agency went to interview him; as is the fashion of the day; to find something new and different to raise the TRP. She asked him “how does it feel to go to the wall everyday and pray for peace?” He looks into her eyes calmly and says “Like I am talking to a wall!”

He probably is! The Universe has no choice but to respond to the signal collective anger that we are giving out. No longer are we angry at something or someone! We are just angry. Period. It has become our continuous state of being! What would have become of our country if Mahatma Gandhi had become angry? Just thinking about it makes me shudder!

Please let us get of this vicious circle of anger giving birth to destruction and destruction creating more anger inside us…Please stop. Forgive. That is the only way. There is a Hindi proverb which means – “Asking for forgiveness does not make your stature less but the one who forgives does grow in stature!”

Let us begin to give out positive signals to Universe! Now!

There is so much collective anger in the society today! There are riots in Britain; there are bomb blasts in Mumbai, violence in Karachi, shooting rampage in Norway; dozens killed in Iraq; military crackdown in Syria; Martial law in Bahrain….the list is endless! Every new day brings in a fresh expression of anger of violence. Don’t we just hate to pick up the newspaper in the morning for the dread of reading about more such news? (more…)

Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding. ~ Mohandas Gandhi (more…)

Imagine holding a burning ember in your hand. An ember which you intend to throw at your enemy the moment you get a chance; but what happens till that moment? What does it do to your hand? Yes that’s right, burns it! What a silly thing to do! And that exactly is what we do when we hold on to our anger or loathing for someone in our hearts. The anger corrodes our innards where as the person against whom it is directed is blissfully ignorant. (more…)
