Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS)

Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a hormonal disorder that affects women who are menstruating. This disorder happens one or two weeks before the actual menstrual cycle begins. There are some symptoms which include

Hormone imbalance is one of the main causes of PMS. During this time, there is excess in estrogen levels and inadequacy of progesterone level. The other factor that causes PMS is low blood sugar (hypo glycemia). Due to fluid retention, the blood flow reduces the oxygen that has to reach the uterus, ovaries and brain leading to PMS.

One can tackle PMS by exercising regularly, changing one’s diet, going on a regular regime of yoga and meditation.
