The Mind

The mind is the center of our well being. Our  lives usually takes shape due to our perceptions. Our thoughts give rise to our feelings. At the center of our thinking lies our brain and the body that it controls. It is the brain that controls all the organs of our body. It is this interdependence and interaction of our organs and systems that make us who we are at a physical level. Malfunction of the central nervous system leads to many disorders of the brain and the spinal cord .To function well the brain requires daily supply of glucose along with amino acids, vitamins, minerals unsaturated fatty acids, as well as sodium and potassium. Because the brain never really sleeps it requires constant oxygen which it receives from the blood stream. Without a regular supply of oxygen and nutrients through the blood stream, normal functioning of the brain is affected leading  to brain disorders and strokes. Our daily diet should include foods like whole grains, pulses, legumes, nuts, wheat germ, millets, fruits, vegetables ,milk and seeds to ensure proper brain function .Exercises, meditation and regular rhythmic breathing are also necessary to improve cerebral oxygen levels. One must also do things that can stimulate and satisfy ones mind to prevent  boredom, depression and restlessness .
